Go With the Flow

I words 1,300 words on a new short story tonight. I was going to force myself to work on my novel, but I kept getting bits of text for the new story in my head. I was going to do the new story for my December 9 workshop, but decided to go with the inspiration. I should finish the first draft by the end of the weekend!

Scary Stories

As Halloween approaches, I would be interested to know what everyone's favorite scary story or novel is. I think mine is still Salem's Lot by Stephen King. Who would have thought that he could take the 100-year-old and somewhat-mundane topic of vampires and make it interesting, let alone a novel that would keep this veteran horror fan up at night. But, he did it. Almost equally as creepy is his short story "Jerusalem's Lot." (I believe that's the title.)
